Tie dye

I don’t know why, but I saw this shirt at Target recently and I had to have it! So out of the normal “Anna” wardrobe, but there’s something so nostalgic about tie dye! It makes me think of summer time, being 10 years old, riding my bike around the neighborhood with my friends, and just a simple time of life. It’s kind of how I feel whenever I watch Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or Now and Then. That innocent time of life when you just wear your home made tie dye shirt (that you probably made at summer camp,) have sleepovers with your girlfriends and stay up way too late giggling about your inside jokes.

A few months ago our daughter Mae had her first sleepover for her birthday. There was something SO special about watching Freaky Friday, staying up past our bedtime and hearing them laugh just before falling asleep. It was magical and made me want to be that age all over again. Childhood can be so amazing and full of creativity and wonderful memories if we just let our kids be kids!

I guess that’s why I started dancing again too! One summer I was watching old dance videos and I saw how happy and carefree I was. I knew I wanted that feeling again, and I definitely feel that way even now when I’m at class or performing on stage. Nothing else matter in those moments.

Funny how just one $15 tee can bring out ALL of those memories and feelings inside me! Another reason I love fashion, blogging, and writing. The right clothing really can bring out the best in people!

Pick one up if you’re feeling nostalgic for childhood as well! I paired mine with a blazer to dress it up a bit and not actually LOOK 10! Haha! Happy Wednesday, friends. Thank you so much for being here!
